Pro-Life Wisconsin Disheartened by Rising Abortion Numbers, Must Redouble our Efforts
December 12, 2018
Madison, WI - On December 11, 2018, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services released Reported Induced Abortions in Wisconsin 2017, an annual publication of statistics on abortions performed in Wisconsin. Abortions in Wisconsin increased by 3.7% for the 2017 reporting year over 2016. Pro-Life Wisconsin State Director Dan Miller offered the following comments:
“It is with heavy hearts that we share these numbers with the people of Wisconsin. Each baby torn from his or her mother’s womb was made in God’s image. Abortion is the ultimate rejection of God. Despite the super-human efforts of pro-lifers across Wisconsin, 206 more babies died from abortion in 2017 than in 2016.
“We must explore new ways to end abortion, but we will never take our hand off the plow and we will never look back. The pro-life movement is such a unique battleground for social justice – a battle inside the womb. It is not our rights that we are defending, but those who are utterly defenseless and always innocent. Let us recommit to making abortion illegal and unthinkable.
“This is a clarion call to the pro-life community in Wisconsin that we must redouble our efforts to stop abortion wherever it is being promoted. Today is all we have, so we must commit to ending abortion TODAY. People must rise up at their school boards, churches, local, state and federal governments to push back on the culture of death. If not you, then who? If not now, when?”
