Pro-Life Wisconsinites Bring the Christmas Message to Milwaukee's Abortion Facility

PRO-LIFE WISCONSINITES BRING THE CHRISTMAS MESSAGE TO MILWAUKEE'S ABORTION FACILITY

By Therese Aukofer, Pro-Life Wisconsin Program Director

Over 20 pro-lifers gathered with Pro-Life Wisconsin on the sidewalks outside Affiliated Medical Services (AMS) on a cold Saturday morning around a large empty manger. The empty manger is symbolic of the 61 million empty cribs because of abortion but also an undeniable reminder of the personhood of the Christ Child and the anticipation of His coming. Everyone who sees a manger knows that the Infant Jesus will be born soon, yet so many babies will not be born because of abortion.

Eight AMS volunteer escorts stood outside the front door and on the sidewalks, filming, laughing, and blasting rock music on a handheld speaker with the sole purpose of distracting and drowning out the carols and hymns. Ironically, some of the songs played were actually Christmas carols and one of the abortion supporters handed out Christmas cookies to the escorts. Not chocolate chip cookies - Christmas cookies! Even they cannot deny, try though they may, that Christmas is about Christ.

Unfortunately, the abortion facility was open and busy. Woman after woman came out in the hour time period pro-lifers sang. Despite the bleak reminder that innocent babies were being slaughtered and their mothers were experiencing horrible trauma, the women who came out of the facility undoubtedly heard the Christmas carols. No amount of counter-music could drown out the truth that Christ our Savior came to us as a baby. Life is a gift. We may not know in this life if a baby was saved on Saturday, but Pro-Life Wisconsin was there with faithful pro-lifers singing with the hope that the miracle of life would be given the opportunity to flourish. Everyone sings with the confidence that maybe, just maybe, a baby will have his or her first Christmas this year because of a simple Christmas carol.

Merry Christmas!

Save the Date: next year's Empty Manger Caroling is December 12, 2020!
