PRO-LIFE FAITHFUL HOLD EUCHARISTIC PROCESSION OUTSIDE MILWAUKEE ABORTION FACILITY
By Therese Aukofer, Pro-Life Wisconsin Program Director
Over 60 pro-life faithful gathered on the streets outside of St. Hedwig on the East Side of Milwaukee for the annual 40 Days for Life Eucharistic Procession. Neither hot weather, hecklers, nor the wind could deter the efforts to bring Jesus to the sidewalks.
Dan Miller, State Director of Pro-Life Wisconsin welcomed everyone on the steps of the church and Father Tim Kitzke, pastor of Three Holy Women, gave an opening blessing. Faithful from parishes all over the city joined in the procession and Knights of Columbus members carried the canopy. Emeritus State Director Peggy Hamill and her husband Bob were among those who joined in the Scriptural Rosary, led by Dan Miller. Father John Baumgardner, associate pastor of Three Holy Women, carried the Blessed Sacrament to the sidewalks outside the abortion facility (AMS), and Deacon Jim Matthias did so on the return to St. Hedwig.
Father Baumgardner gave a heartfelt reflection outside of AMS and encouraged all participants to pray for an end to abortion and especially, “to pause and think of the abortion workers many of them you know, picture them, and pray three Hail Mary’s for the conversion of their hearts.”
Milwaukee 40 Days for Life leader, September remarked, “bringing Jesus to the brokenness of the abortion clinic is such a blessing! The devil tried to thwart it in many ways. Jesus triumphed! Amen!”
40 Days for Life Fall campaign begins September 23 and ends November 1, 2020.
