THE SCOURGE OF OUR NATION
Marking the 48th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade
By Anna DeMeuse, Pro-Life Wisconsin Communications Director
Today, on this 48th anniversary of the fateful Roe v. Wade decision by the United States Supreme Court, we mourn for the soul of our nation and for over 62 million children that have been victims of the culture of death.
On January 22, 2021, we face the insurmountable reality of what our country has allowed to persist for nearly half a century – the barbaric practice of child sacrifice. Abortion is a scourge on the soul of our nation, and it must end.
Since 1973, over 62 million children have been sacrificed on the altar of convenience, suffering violent deaths at the hands of the abortion industry. Each and every one of their lives was full of purpose – precious and unrepeatable. We mourn for them and for their mothers and fathers, grandmas and grandpas, sisters and brothers, aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends. The pain and suffering of abortion knows no bounds.
Today we grieve for a nation that is hurting from the wounds inflicted by the culture of death. We pray for the souls of all those aborted and for all those who will be aborted today. We pray for their loved ones and all those who mourn their death. And we pray for healing upon our nation, scourged by the tragedy of abortion, that God might bring mercy and forgiveness to all who call upon His name.
