Te Mantener Su Bebe?

TE MANTENER SU BEBE?

By Dan Miller, State Director of Pro-Life Wisconsin

On Tuesday, February 9, 2021, I was present on the sidewalk outside one of the two remaining abortion centers in Milwaukee, Affiliated Medical Services, and a woman was heading into the building. I began to speak in Spanish to her as she made her way into the abortion center and handed her a magazine provided to us by our friends at Human Life Alliance, “Esta no es tu única opción” — “This is not your only option.”  Many there were speaking to her in English, but the last words she heard from me as she entered the abortion center’s last set of doors was, “Dios te le bendiga y su bebe también,” meaning “God bless you and your baby also.”  It is always the last thing I say to moms and dads as they enter what I call, “Hell With Doors,” the abortion center. I believe it gives them something positive to dwell on, as God is always with us.

At around 6:20 p.m., she left the abortion center. Once again, I handed her the same magazine in Spanish from Human Life Alliance. She held up the one I had given her on the way in and said, “Ya me tengo, pero gracias.” (I already have, but thank you.)

I asked, “Are you ok?” (Esta bien?)

“Si, si,” she said.  (Yes, yes.)

“How is your baby doing?” (Como esta su bebe?)

“Bien! Bien!” (Good!  Good!)

How far along are you?

“Diez semanas.” (Ten weeks.)

“Are you going to keep your baby?”  (Te mantener su bebé?)

“Si, si.  No puedo a aborta mi bebé.  (Yes, yes.  I cannot abort my baby.)

I told her about all the free help at the Women’s Care Center and informed her of their other location on 8th & Mitchell where they have Spanish speakers on staff.  She was not dressed for eight-degree weather, so we said our goodbyes.  It was dark out by then, but her smile lit up the entire block!

I’ve said it before.  There is no greater joy than to see a mother reject abortion right in front of the place that wants to kill her baby.  It is like Oskar Shindler, the German manufacturing mogul who saved over 1,200 Jews, bought their freedom essentially with his own money once said, “He who saves one life saves the world entire.”

We certainly aren’t Oskar Schindler, but we have been able to witness to over 1,431 moms who have chosen life since August 3, 2010, out on the sidewalks in front of Wisconsin abortion centers.  We give God all the praise and glory!  Thank You, Lord!  It’s a wonderful life!
